Driftwood Table

Driftwood Table: Completed in 2011 for D’allesandro’s Pizza, this one of a kind piece is built using driftwood as support, with a basa wood tabletop.  The elevated driftwood that rises from the center is a functional addition, allowing table space by setting a pizza in the center above plates and beverages.

St. Phillip St. 1865

This table is reclaimed from a Charleston renovation.  The legs are discarded studs while the top and skirt are baseboards and door casings.  The nail holes and insect damage give it the appearance that it was made closer to 1865 than 2006 when it actually was constructed.

Ashley Ave. 1930

Constructed entirely from  salvaged timber from an Ashley Ave residence.  It is put together with mortise and tenon joinery as well as pegs.  It uses no nails or screws and any that remain were originally put there in 1930.

Inlay Table

This table’s stand and veneer top are both made from reclaimed heart pine from Ashley and St. Philips St. in Charleston SC.  The reclaimed wood dates from 1840-1930 with modern materials forming the foundation for the top.

Church Pew Bench

Recycled from a retired upstate church pew, this poplar bench now has a second life.  It is also a tribute to the late “Granny” Nelly Iowe Reece.  An inscription on the underside reads “Lord thank you for this food, may it strengthen and nourish our bones, especially the ones that prepared it.  We thank you in the precious name of Jesus. Amen.”
